Adrian Strandberg Management Trainee

Adrian was born and mostly grew up in Calgary, AB, although him and his family spent several years overseas as well during his youth as his dad’s work brought their family to live in Nigeria, Libya, and Egypt. After years of back and forth, his family settled back down in Calgary, where Adrian finished high school and pursued an education in Business Administration at Ambrose University, while also competing with their Volleyball and Soccer teams in the ACAC.

Adrian spent his summers through university in construction landscaping as well as jr. estimating for a roofing company, where he got a taste for the construction industry. Shortly after graduating university, he joined the hospitality industry, where he realized a passion for serving his local community while working through several different positions before taking on a general manager role.

In the beginning of 2024, shortly after marrying his wife Marya, Adrian pursued a shift in his career and joined the EMCO Waterworks Management Development Program. During his time with EMCO he has been able to once again live out his passion for serving local communities, and he enjoys being part of a rich network of talented teammates within EMCO, a network that brought him out to join the Kelowna Waterworks Team in March 2025!

In his spare time, Adrian loves to get out and explore new places with his wife, play rec league sports, and get out golfing as much as possible in the summer!

Lincoln Connor Strategic Development Trainee

Lincoln was born in Chilliwack, BC and grew up in Vernon, BC after him, his brother, and his parents moved when Lincoln was the age of three. He grew up helping his dad with underground water utilities during his limited spare time, due to him playing almost every sport imaginable; however, him and his brother, Powell, grew quite fond of hockey.

Through his last days in minor hockey, Lincoln eventually moved to play hockey in Kamloops for two years, where he made some lifelong friends (and filled a few water bottles).

Following his hockey career, Lincoln returned home and worked in a lumber mill with the goal to earn enough money to attend post-secondary. After two years at the mill, he achieved his goal and moved to the island to attend U of Vic.

After four years in Victoria, Lincoln’s time on the island had concluded and he is excited to be moving back home to the Okanagan. Now, using his prior waterworks knowledge, is pursuing a career at EMCO!

In his free time, Lincoln still enjoys playing and watching hockey, as well as football. He says he likes to compete, but in reality, it is mainly an excuse to do what he really loves; spending time with family and friends.

Val McIvor Operations Manager

Val grew up in Vernon, BC. She studied Banking and Finance at Cariboo College in Kamloops after which she was employed with National Trust Company for 7 years, holding various positions in lending and investments.

Val left National Trust in 1987 to join Emco’s computer conversion team, assisting in taking Emco operations online across the country.

Once completed, Val supervised the systems support team for 10 years and then went on to hold such positions as Regional Supply Chain Supervisor (SW Ontario), Regional Pricing Manager (SW Ontario), Branch Manager Plbg (Windsor Ont), Branch Manager Plbg (Osoyoos BC) and Operations Manager Plbg (West Kelowna BC).  She joined the waterworks team in July of 2017 and is thrilled to be working with such a young, energetic, talented team and jokes that she drags the average age up by at least 5 years.

Val was blessed with two children (now grown adults) who both reside in Kelowna.  She enjoys condo living in downtown Kelowna and spends her free time walking, shopping, travelling and socializing with longtime friends and family.

In 2015, Robbie was promoted into a management role, managing a small but successful sales team in Electronics. In 2018, he made the transition from managing a team to managing space, taking on the Warehouse manager’s position.

Robbie joined the Emco team as Warehouse Manager in February 2020. He enjoys the fast-paced environment of the Interiors waterworks construction industry. He looks forward to the opportunities that lay ahead with Emco and is excited to be a part of an industry that always helps build our community towards something better.

In his spare time, Robbie likes to spend time with his fiancé and two pups. Whether its golfing/ volleyball on the beach in the summer, or playing/watching hockey in the winter. Theres never a dull moment in the Okanagan valley.
